Linux phone for India and the world

India is the second largest smartphone market in the world with 439m users in 2020 which is only poised to grow in future. India has one of the largest Linux user base, if not the largest.

What connects those two statements? When the rest of the world have started to look at 3rd alternative to mobile operating systems in the form of smartphones[1][2] powered by Linux Operating Systems(Mainline kernel) India has been left behind due to it's policies with pre-built smartphone hardware.

India has exuberant import taxation for pre-built smartphone hardware and offers incentives to manufacture smartphone in the country which propelled it to become second largest smartphone manufacturer in the world.

I think there's a need-gap for a smartphone manufacturer to build Linux smartphones for India and the world from India.
