▲ ▼ Monthly payment - Freelancer App
Covid 19 has caused a lot of unemployment worldwide.
Although there are many freelancer apps out there, most of them operate based on a commission model system. By charging many poor freelancers for every single work/project they do on those platforms.
If Netflix has been so successful, by delivering extensive and diverse content, a freelancer app might succeed as well. Using similarly the same business model.
On this app: Freelancers pay a monthly fee and they can generate as much work as they can, without being ripped off on every single job they do by those bloody commissions.
I will like to see some thoughts on the matter. Thanks !
https://green-pixel.com/ has been doing this for design i.e. offering monthly fee for freelancing work. But their service seems to be employer focussed, I wonder whether the freelancers they offer to customers are their own regular employees.
Ignoring the harsh words, I think the problem you are stating is that 'freelancing service providers commission are high' and you think flat fee could address that.
I guess by charging commission, they ensure that the fee is paid only when the work is done. But if it's a subscription, even those who don't get a work needs to pay each month and soon freelancers would leave for other platforms where they have to pay only when they get paid.
Comparing a consumer service like Netflix just because it is a subscription service seems just wrong. But, I will leave someone more knowledgable about business models state why it is so.
It's called Two-sided market place, when the platform enables exchange between two distinct user groups. In fact Netflix, Uber, Airbnb etc. are all Two-sided market place, but I agree that we cannot just sight Netflix as a justification for any subscription.
