▲ ▼ Remote work is making me lonely and depressed
I am a jolly type person who enjoys the relationships we make at office. For the past 1.5 years I have been working remotely due to the pandemic and I feel very lonely, depressed due to that.
Worst of all it looks like the remote work is going to be permanent and switching jobs is not an option as all other firms are offering remote work only.
Are you in the same position as me? What have you done to cope with this situation?

I was in a similar situation. These are the steps I took:
- Started hybrid working, going to the office once or twice a week. (not entirely true that offices are not opening)
- Made regular calls to old friends
- Try to go out once a week to meet old friends.
The stress of remote working is for real. Try to find out ways of being active socially one way or another.
Make calls after meetings to just chat and have fun, maybe play games together.
Find a forum or Discord server in your area of interest.
Or just have your Google Meet running all day long with your friends who work.
