▲ ▼ Make clicking links safer
My job involves clicking lot of links from unknown individuals, Which is the first no-no to prevent hacking and is being constantly advised everywhere.
I am constantly paranoid after clicking a link. May be cybersecurity experts have some ways for clicking links safely, But I am not one of them and I doubt whether the method they use would apply for people like me who get dozens of legitimate links over email and chat.
I feel since there's no easy way currently to safely click links, People just ignore the advise against clicking links and end-up getting hacked.
What job do you have? I'm curious to learning which profession requires people to click on a large number of links from unknown individuals.
Could you eli5 me what is the worst case scenario if you only click a random link without the following problems like download and execute random software or input your credit card there

Most office environments do have some form of anti-virus solutions which has built-in URL scanning facilities to prevent phishing attacks, But they're far from perfect and hence the general advise to not click unknown links.
But I agree with you that that it's not a solution when the work involves clicking several such links in a day. A more accessible solution to make clicking links safer is definitely needed.
Thanks for telling me about URL scanners, that seems usable as virtual machine is beyond my abilities. We do use Antivirus software, So did one of my friend but their office still got hacked after one of their employees clicked some link.
