EdTech startups at scale serve the interests of neither the educated nor the educator but themselves.
As an alternative tutors need to host the course on their own platform, Which is easier said than done for educators who are not coders themselves.
There is a need-gap for platform which can enable the tutors distribute courses under their own infrastructure (incl. easy deployment to cloud). Such a platform should include video content distribution, chat, course work submission, assessment, certification etc.
Why not https://github.com/moodle/moodle ? It's a commonly used learning management system with one click installers on a few hosting providers. Might not have a payment integration, but hosts video, writing, etc
moodle looks like a great platform to address this problem, thanks for sharing! There seems to be several services offering to setup moodle as well.
There are a lot of shopify like tools available for this.
