▲ ▼ Creating a team with only remote employees
Forming a good core team for a startup is a large challenge, having remote team could help with better talent acquisition and also reduce the costs for setting up the infrastructure. There is no goto place for getting full-time remote employees for a startup which is yet to be launched.
Available options are mostly focussed upon freelance workers, which wouldn't work for a startup needing dedicated workforce.
Though not in itself a permanent solution, we created https://www.deployee.io to allow startups with extra capacity to contract out their teams to other startups for short or medium term projects. For a new startup, they could contract in a team that has already worked together, and built successful ongoing projects (as opposed to freelance or agencies, which tend to want to deliver the project and then move on). This could also lead to a transition of the team, if the lending startup can no longer support the team.
On the flip side, a pre-funding startup could use this as a way to bring in really high caliber talent and pay them at market rates, while having them spend the majority of their time initially on contract work and building the new product almost "on the side".
Hey, this a great idea! especially for the current times when many startups are laying off their employees due the the market situation.
So the contract is between the startups, are employees involved in any manner in signing the contract? I expect, those whose job is under threat of furlough may use this opportunity; but I wonder whether all startup employees would be open to the idea being contracted to another startup.
It would be great if you could think about integrating hiring the entire team without involvement of the Startup, but I guess then only those Startup teams which have been laid off would be applicable.
Core team can make or break a startup, hence forming the core team out of remote employees is not recommended due to the trust issues involved. That said, remote teams are picking up its phase due to the obvious advantages mentioned by you.
There is a need gap for a service which can resolve the trust issues, validation, equity, payments on both sides for creating a remote team for launching a startup.
Also, another major friction is the different employee/labour regulations in each country. The service should be able to take care of these regulations and compliances for the startups for seamless recruiting irrespective of the country, the potential employee is from.
But remote teams can at best be functional only for IT startups, especially ones developing softwares and up to some extent few hardware startups like those involving IoT due to the logistics constraints. So, in order to expand the domain of employment for remote teams; the service needs to take care of the logistics as well.
Hi! If you have remote developers, check out Frontosaur https://frontosaur.com/ It allows to set tasks right on the interface, which is extremely handy when it comes to remote web-development
Hi Natalia, Frontosaur looks and sounds cool! How does it compare to other real-time collaborative design tools such as Figma?

Hi Sajidnazi, AXSAR Solo seems to be fully featured; is there any plan to offer integrations with other common tools & services commonly used in the small businesses such as slack, dropbox, google drive, google docs etc.
Also I don't see pricing on the site, small business would be comfortable in knowing the price upfront especially since there are other CRM tools which are available for free.
AXSAR Solo aims to be CRM and all-in-one solution for small teams, so teams can manage all aspects of running their small business using AXSAR Solo.
Currently, it does't support Dropbox, etc as the 'Files' feature of AXSAR Solo is meant to replace the need for Dropbox and other cloud storage solutions. It provides world class file search and file sharing capability for its users. Regarding Slack kind of chat features, stay tuned as real time chat will be a feature we will add to AXSAR Solo in the near future.
Pricing is quite simple and mentioned on the website: £9.99/user/month
